UK and Ireland Tour and Music Festival

The Client:

Dean Friedman is an American pop singer-songwriter, with a career spanning four decades and a devoted international following. First bursting into the popular music scene in the 70s with his hit single “Ariel”, he has since produced several chart-topping classics which has earned widespread acclaim for its humorous lyricism and sophisticated musicianship. His most well-known works include “Lucky Stars”, “Lydia”, “Woman of Mine”, “McDonald’s Girl” and “‘Well, Well,’ Said the Rocking Chair”.

The Brief:

Dean Friedman wanted us to help promote his UK and Ireland solo tour, and his micro-music-festival, ‘SongFest’.

Goho was tasked to execute a PR strategy focusing on generating placements and listings for each stop of his tour, in order to maximise attendees and reinforce Dean’s reputation as a prolific singer-songwriter.

Our Approach:

PR was important in raising awareness about Louise and her exhibition. We wrote an initial press release introducing Dean Friedman’s tour, featuring clear information on his tour stops as well as highlighting Dean’s beloved career as a musician and his top hits, distributing it to both local and national press. We also did follow-ups for regional publications of each of Dean’s tour stops to ensure adequate coverage.

We also worked to invite journalists to Dean’s shows and sent music reviewers his CDs.

By constantly engaging with music, culture, and local events publications, we ensured consistent visibility throughout the tour.

The Results

By the end of the campaign, we secured a total of 79 placements, ranging from interviews with music magazines, local events listings in top regional publications and gig reviews. 339k estimated views, with 647 engagements and a healthy average domain authority of 49, linking back to Dean’s website.
