An Adventure in Athens: A 3-Day Company Offsite Itinerary
Looking for an amazing destination for your next company offsite? We’ve got the perfect suggestion for you!
Goho visited Athens for our own company offsite and came back rested, relaxed, and with stronger bonds between our colleagues.
Why Athens? With its rich culture, beautiful weather, warm hospitality, and world-renowned cuisine, it was the perfect setting to spark creativity and deepen bonds across our team. Athens is also the place where both democracy and philosophy was created as we learned during our visit to the Acropolis. One of our favourite stories was about the first olive tree on top of the acropolis as Athena - the goddess of wisdom - thrust her spear into the ground.
Athens is so much more than just sunny weather and beautiful beaches. When you take time to notice the small details, the rich culture and deep historical roots, you'll find that your trip becomes even more meaningful and memorable.
Our trip gave us loads of ideas on how to organise the best company offsite that will be a lasting memory for everyone in your company. We’ll let you steal our ideas and get inspired for your next company offsite in Athens!
Day 1: A Grand Welcome to Athens (Wednesday)
Morning
Your company will arrive in Athens at approximately 10:00–11:00 AM, landing in the super connected Athens International Airport.
Transfer to your accommodation for the next three nights: the 5-star Wyndham Grand Athens, just 30 minutes from the airport.
Enjoy a smooth check-in and welcome refreshments at SILK Lobby Lounge, overlooking lively Karaiskaki Square.
Midday
From 12:30–2:00 PM, gather for a Mediterranean buffet lunch at the hotel’s FOS Restaurant, offering local cuisine and an excellent wine selection.
To formally kick everything off, from 2:00–4:00 PM, you will have a Opening Ceremony and Company Presentation at one of the hotel’s many conference rooms, depending on the size of your group. You can have welcome remarks by leadership, a presentation of company updates or vision, and even icebreaker games or a fun company quiz.
Evening
We suggest keeping the evening casual to let everyone decompress after a day of travel, so from 4:30 PM onwards, you’ll have free time to explore Athens.
Some suggested activities which you can coordinate through sign-ups include a walk around the old town Plaka, a visit to the Acropolis Museum, or watching the sunset at Lycabettus Hill — all a short distance from the hotel by foot or by car.
You can also offer an optional group dinner at a traditional taverna like Kuzina or Diodos, which has fantastic views of the Acropolis.
Day 2: Creating Bonds and Making Memories (Thursday)
Morning
You will have breakfast at the hotel from 8:00-9:00 AM to get ready for an action-packed day.
From 9:30 AM–12:30 PM, you will begin your first team-building activity: The Great Athens Treasure Hunt!
With the help of local tour guides, you will explore historic Athens through a scavenger hunt, solving clues and complete challenges at landmarks like the Roman Agora, Hadrian’s Library, and Monastiraki. Teams compete in a fun, engaging way while learning about the city.
Midday
You will gather back at the hotel for a group lunch.
The next team-building activity will be a less physically exerting one in one of the hotel’s meeting rooms: A Greek Pottery Workshop!
From 2:30-5:30 PM, teams will paint traditional Greek ceramics, each with a theme (e.g., company values, goals, product vision).
Evening
For a spectacular dining experience, take your company on a beautiful sunset dinner cruise.
Sailing down the Athens Riviera, you will have Greek appetisers along with an open bar with Attica wines, beer, ouzo, mastica and more!
Day 3: Rest and Reflection (Friday)
Morning
For the last full day, start it off with a free morning for rest or personal sightseeing.
Some activities that you can suggest are a stroll through the National Gardens, a visit to the Acropolis (if some people haven’t done yet), or a gastronomic food tour at Psyri, a well-known food neighbourhood in Athens.
Midday
You will have free time for lunch or an optional organised group meal.
From 2:00–5:00 PM, you will embark on a fun cooking challenge. In teams, you will cook classic Greek dishes under the guidance of a local chef. With the judging panel consisting senior leadership and the chef, it will be a fun, informal, and delicious way to close the trip
Evening
You will have farewell cocktails at the ABOVE Roof Top Pool Bar Restaurant, which has a panoramic view of the beautiful city.
With an exclusive use of the rooftop, you will do casual networking, have thank-you speeches, and take an incredible group photo with the Acropolis in the background.
Day 4: Journey’s End (Saturday)
Morning
Sadly, all journeys must come to a close. Your company will have a last breakfast at the hotel and will proceed with check-out.
Your company will transfer to Athens International Airport to catch your departure flight, happy, inspired and well-rested.
