Chocolate, Cocktails & Chaos (The Good Kind)

A GoShow to remember – with a cocoa-dusted twist.

This month, the team headed to Shoreditch for a Tipsy Truffle Thursday workshop with My Chocolate, a hidden gem that combines cocktails and confections into one very yummy experience. 

From the moment we walked in, the vibe was upbeat, welcoming and filled with the sweet smell of chocolate in the air. We strapped our aprons on, sat down and prepared for the boozy, chocolate-filled night ahead. 

The night started off with us getting to know our table mates and getting into groups to make our cocktails. Not just any cocktails either, rich, boozy concoctions with a chocolate twist, think espresso martinis but more chocolate forward. And to top it off? They were served in edible, chocolate-dipped cups. It was delicious, and we couldn't help but wonder why every cocktail isn't presented this way.

After finishing our cocktails, we began the truffle making. We were given a bowl of ganache and we piped it out onto some parchment paper to create the perfect sized truffle later on. After we got all of our ganache onto the paper and it had slightly dried, we began rolling out our truffles into whatever shapes we could think of. 

From plain circles and squares to hearts and starts we tried to make everything! After making them into the shapes we wanted, we dipped them into a bowl of milk or dark chocolate, then topped with whatever our hearts desired. There were raspberry pieces, honeycomb bits, seasalt, white chocolate shavings, and so much more. 

And at the end, you got to walk away with a full bag (or box if yours were still wet at the end of the workshop) of chocolate! Now whether they made it home or were eaten on the way back... well, that’s another story.

We laughed, we sipped, we made new friends. It was messy, indulgent, and a surprisingly good bonding experience, nothing like getting slightly tipsy and making truffles to bring a team closer together. 

Shoutout to the team at My Chocolate for being so welcoming, keeping the drinks flowing, and helping us all channel our inner chocolatiers. They made the whole evening feel equal parts chill and special, which is exactly the kind of energy we’re all about.
